First Group Picture

There have been some special moments in this process of starting Central. When God confirmed to our hearts that we were to go forward with a church plant here in Desoto County, it was a milestone for our ministry life. When Charity voted to be our Mother Church, it was a special weekend for me personally as well as my family. It has been special to go to the various churches to present Central. But this past weekend was perhaps the biggest step forward that we have taken in our short existence. I think it was providentially meant to be the way it played out.

First, on Saturday, the Mt Calvary Association in Northeast Arkansas voted to support the ministry efforts of Central. They have committed $800 monthly towards our Opening Budget! My heart was elated to receive the news that this became reality! We have prayed for financial support from churches and associations and God has answered through the generosity of these associated churches! I want to personally thank all the churches for making this a reality and helping us so significantly in this way!

Second, on Sunday, we had our first official Core Group meeting. It was held in our home in Southaven. There were 26 present for the meeting! There was a great joy in our midst as we gathered and the excitement was real! I was even nervous! Could not sleep the night before! We even had two visitors that I had not expected! WOW! I was pretty pumped about that! Taylor Clayton led us in a time of worship and I was blessed to launch the first training session on “SOAPing”! Included in this blog is a picture of some of the ones gathered in our living room for this historic meeting.

So… indeed it was a huge weekend for Central! We give the Lord all the Glory & Praise! Much more to come….
